A positive review on Jeyes Easy Anti-Bacterial Cleaner 750ml

We ordered in some Jeyes Easy Anti-Bacterial Cleaner and I gave it to my Wife to try! I asked her to give us a product review (I think she might have overdone it slightly) and I am certain she would recomend the product.

Jeyes Easy Anti-Bacterial Cleaner 750ml

At just £0.95p per bottle, it really is a bargain, here is what she thought –

‘The antibacterial spray is amazing. Its so much cheaper than well known brands in supermarkets yet works just the same if not better. ive been using it to remove tough stains from the kitchen worktops and with just one quick whipe the mess is gone, no more sticky surfaces in our home! i dont know how i cleaned without it!’

Energy Saving Lightbulbs: Consumer buying patterns information – High Wattage Incandescent Light Bulbs as popular as ever

In spite of Government legislation & advertising, people are still buying the old, standard light bulbs up to 25% more often than Energy Saving alternatives.

From September 2009 the traditional 100 watt pearl GLS bulb, often seen in peoples homes was made obsolete, and the government has decided to gradually ban the manufacture of GLS incandescent light bulbs. By this year this commonplace lightbulb will be made completely extinct.

Nonetheless, sales through our consumer-facing website (www.lamps2udirect.com) – which is visited by thousands of people everyday – are 25% higher for the old, incandescent bulbs.

We can also see through our website traffic that people are still searching for traditional Candle, Golfball & GLS Bulbs, rather than trying to find an Energy Saving bulb first.

When we talk to customers, they’re usually aware that the Energy Saving bulbs, whilst more expensive, will last longer & save them on their energy bills.

Nonetheless, the perception of Energy Saving bulbs as being bulky, odd-looking and giving out ‘the wrong sort of light’ means people aren’t making the switch over that the Government wants them to.

It seems that Government policy is enough to get people talking about being green, but isn’t getting them to walk the walk!

Shropshire’s street light switch-off is mapped out

Shropshire council argues that the blackout will not compromise public safety

Shropshire council argues that the blackout will not compromise public safety

Shropshire council has released an interactive map showing where street lights will be switched off overnight.

The controversial “part-night lighting” programme, which was approved in September 2011, involves 70 per cent of the street lights owned and maintained by Shropshire council.

The scheme is set to begin next month and will see certain street lights switch on from dusk until midnight. They will then light up again at 5.30am and remain on until dawn.

Shropshire residents have been invited to check how the lights near them will be affected by using an interactive map, which allows people to enter their postcode and search for their area.

The council hopes to reduce energy use by up to 1,000 tonnes per year, which is around 21 per cent of the current street lighting emissions.

Councillor Simon Jones defended the programme, saying: “We have had detailed discussions with the emergency services and town and parish council representatives about which lights are included in the scheme, and it is important to remember that every street light will still be on until midnight.”

Some street lights in the area are exempt from the scheme because they are maintained by parish or town councils. In addition, some street lights will not be included because they are near busy road junctions, sheltered housing or other safety concerns.

The news follows a rash of negative news stories for councils that have implemented similar street lighting strategies.

In February, Northamptonshire County Council decided to end a blackout along a stretch of road after a nine-year-old was injured in a road traffic collision.

Last December, the family of a soldier who was killed on a road in Somerset blamed his death on a street lighting blackout.

A West Mercia Police spokesperson confirmed that policing teams will be monitoring the effects of Shropshire Council’s lighting changes closely.

Olympic tower to host light installation

ArcelorMittal Orbit tower

The tower’s light installation will feature both static and animated effects.

The ArcelorMittal Orbit tower, located in the heart of London’s Olympic Village, will include a light installation, designed by Arup Lighting.

The spiralling 375ft ruby-red tower will incorporate 250 colour spotlights in order to create a 15-minute light show that will be shown nightly during the Games.

The LED spotlights will be individually controlled to create the moving light show that will also incorporate special effects.

Designed by Turner-prize winner Anish Kapoor, and Cecil Balmond, the tower is planned to re-open in 2014 to accommodate an expected 5,000 tourists per day.

Andrew Altman, chief executive of the London Legacy Development Corporation, said: “The feature lighting opens a completely new artistic aspect to the work of Anish Kapoor and Cecil Balmond.

“It will create a vivid landmark with dynamic effects that we can use in tandem with different events.”

The tower has been described as a ‘sustainable structure’ with 60 per cent of its 2,000 tonnes of steelwork coming from recycled sources.
